MillionRanked tracks and ranks the top 1 million most popular websites on the internet, with 3-year historical trend data updated weekly.

How It Works

Our rankings are derived from the Tranco research list, which aggregates data from multiple authoritative sources including Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 resolver), Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX), Cisco Umbrella, Farsight passive DNS, and Majestic backlink data. This multi-source approach makes the ranking more reliable and resistant to manipulation.

Traffic Estimates

Monthly traffic estimates are derived from rank position using a power-law model calibrated against known data points. These are approximations — actual traffic may vary significantly. Chinese websites include a 5× adjustment to account for known undercounting in Western data sources.

Trend Data

We maintain monthly ranking snapshots going back 3+ years, allowing you to see how any website's popularity has changed over time. Weekly updates keep the data fresh.

Categories

Domains are classified into 66 categories using keyword-based heuristics and a curated list of known domains. Some domains may be miscategorized — we're continually improving accuracy.
